Ardfert Community Centre

Ardfert Community Centre has developed from the Hilton Ballroom, unused for a number of years to Ardfert Community Centre (ACC) as we know it to-day. In 2008, over 1000 people have used ACC facilities. At present ACC employs 21 people. Our Committee has sourced funding from Fás, Pobal, HSE,Tuaithe Ciarraí, Partnership Tra-lí & National Lottery.

 



Childcare Centre

The childcare centre consists of the Créche Montessori Preschool and Afterschool Club/Camps. The age range is from 5 months to 12 years. It is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. five days a week, it is closed for an average of two weeks at Christmas. Sixty children avail of this facility on a weekly basis. The success of this childcare facility is due to the highly qualified and professional manner of the staff. All staff are qualified in all aspects of childcare. The co-ordinator of the facility is Julia o’Halloran assistant co-ordinator Lorraine O'Brien. We currently employ a Montessori Teacher Aisling Donoghue and childcare Supervisor Tara O Halloran in the childcare afterschool service and crèche we have Margaret Looney, Hellen O Connor, Lisa McCarthy, Bernadette Martin, Linda Sweeney and Joanne Healy. At present we employ 10 people in childcare.

Gym

Our gym facility was opened by Sile de Valera in 1990 and it has gone from strength to strength catering for all levels of fitness and abilities. Making use of our modern training equipment are hurling and football teams. With tailored routines, doctor referrals and people with special needs under the watchful eyes of our qualified staff. Laundry

Employed in our laundry you have Breda Egan and Doreen Casey to cater for all our laundry needs, washing drying and ironing. We also have a collection/delivery service for those who don’t have a means of transportation.
