A lot of the usual sports and activities have already started again at the Community Centre for the Autumn term. Judo, junior and senior ladies basketball and drama have started and athletics and Youth Club are due to start shortly with Comhaltas music and dancing classes also due to begin in due course.
The First Aid Course continues this Thursday night 21st from 7-10pm, and next Thursday 28th.
Indoor Market continues every Sunday from 11-2pm with the usual variety of fruit and vegetables on offer as well as lots of home baking, pictures, photographs, bric-a- brac etc.
We are very grateful for the recent donations of good quality books which we sell second hand in aid of various charities and in particular in aid of Kerry Parents and Friends Association, Listowel.
There is a Coffee morning in aid of the Hospice Association this Thursday morning from 10.30-1pm. All support welcome on the day for this worthy cause.

All the usual activities are ready to recommence after the Summer holidays. The Senior Citizens Group will be gathering shortly on Tuesdays from 11-2pm. New members most welcome.

The Summer Camps have come to a close and the schools are reopening this week. The After School Club will begin on Wednesday 6th fom 2-6pm and continues on Thursdays and Fridays. Homework is supervised and if time allows games and sports are played and some projects are undertaken. A light snack is provided and the children are supervised at all times.
The Indoor Market continues from 11-2pm with a large variety of fresh vegetables on offer as well as the usual array of home baking, bric-a-brac, pictures, photographs, desserts etc. Come along for a browse and enjoy the atmosphere.
The second hand book sale continues in aid of the Kerry Parents & Friends Association, Listowel Branch. The fund raising drive and charity walk to buy the wheelchair accessible bus was a resounding success and the Training Centre in Listowel took possession of the bus last week. It has now gone to get painted and safety devices installed, before being used. Congratulations to all involved in the event and many thanks for the continued support.

Another Summer Camp comes to an end and all who took part enjoyed their time, with outdoor and indoor games, painting , cpmpetitions etc. Some of the larger paintings are on display in the Community Centre and are well worth a visit.

The Ardfert Summer Festival continues until Sunday with the grand parade and fancy dress competition. Big crowds expected as usual.
St. Brendan's senior hurlers had a win over Crotta O'Neill's in Div. 1 of the Credit Union Hurling League 0-16 to 1-8.
They are also winners of the North Kerry Senior B final.
The div. 3 hurlers had a win over Austin Stacks 3-14 to 1-6 and now travel to Kilgarvan on Wednesday night next for the final game in the league. St. Brendan's have an unbeaten run at the moment in Div. 3.
The U-15's lost out to Causeway in the Co. Championship.
The second of the North Kerry Hurling Board's blitz competitions for under 10 hurlers took place in Ardfert last Saturday. Nine teams in total were involved and Causeway took home the John O'Gorman trophy while the Donal O'Flaherty remained in Ardfert with St. Brendan's. Captain Fionn Kavanagh-Ennis thanked all his team and trainers. There was a great days hurling and the early rain cleared off and warm sunshine took over.
St. Brendan's senior hurlers are meeting Abbeydorney in a quarter final of the championship in Austin Stack Park on Saturday 12th August at 7.30pm. This game will be preceeded bu Crotta v Kilmoyley at 6pm.

Summer Camp for 6-8 year olds began today and all are having a great time. The Lego Robotics course began today in the Institute of Technology Tralee. 11 students were collected at the Community Centre by bus and taken to the college where they enjoyed making robots and trying to programme them. They were provided with lunch and the course continues until Friday.
